DanubeCrafts Digital Map Workshop Brought Together Stakeholders in Vratsa

On 20 March 2026, a workshop dedicated to the development of the DanubeCrafts digital map was held in Vratsa, organised by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry Vratsa (CCI Vratsa) within the framework of the Interreg Danube Region Programme (DRP) 2021–2027.

The event brought together representatives of local authorities, businesses, cultural institutions, educational organisations, and other stakeholders interested in the development of cultural tourism and traditional crafts in the region.

The main objective of the workshop was to present the concept of the interactive digital map, which is being developed within the project as a tool for identifying, visualising, and promoting key locations related to traditional crafts, cultural heritage, and local attractions.

During the meeting, participants were introduced to the functionalities of the map and its potential to support the creation of the Traditional Crafts Route. Special attention was given to the process of collecting and structuring information, including the identification of significant sites, crafts, artisans, and cultural resources that can be integrated into the platform.

The discussion session enabled active stakeholder engagement, with participants sharing ideas, proposing specific locations, and contributing with valuable local knowledge. The workshop also highlighted the importance of digital tools in improving the visibility and accessibility of cultural heritage and traditional crafts, as well as their role in supporting the development of sustainable tourism.

The event contributed to strengthening cooperation between local stakeholders and outlined concrete next steps for the further development and enrichment of the digital map.

The DanubeCrafts project brings together 18 organisations from 12 countries in Central and South-Eastern Europe, with the common goal of supporting the sustainable development of cultural tourism through the preservation and modern promotion of traditional crafts. The project runs from 1 April 2025 to 30 September 2027.
